Labor and Union Committee town hall – State of the Union

Let’s Talk Labor Unions

The Alabama NAACP Labor and Union Committee hosted a town hall styled conversation in Mobile that highlighted the diversity of the state of Labor in an increasingly complex environment for Unions. The State of the Union was a play on words for Presidential addresses, yet it portrayed the precedence for the need to have a paradigm shift in Labor and Industry. Unions provide security and protection for the striving poor. Historically, labor is the change maker that gives dignity to those who are the workers that the country was built upon. This modern day challenge embraced by our diverse panel provides hope for our resurgence in an industry embracing Alabama and its desire to replace the foundation Labor and Industry provides. The session included conversations from Steelworks, Communication Workers, and the Alabama Education Association (AEA).
